The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh's annual Titans Day of Giving surpassed expectations this year, raising $198,389 from 463 donors on September 12. The fundraising effort exceeded its initial goal of $150,000 by over $48,000.
The campaign was held in honor of the university’s founding in 1871. Chancellor Manohar Singh expressed gratitude for the broad support from alumni, community partners, faculty, staff, and students.
“Our UWO alumni, community partners, faculty, staff and students have shown us what it truly means to be a Titan: tenacious, committed, generous and mission-focused,” UWO Chancellor Manohar Singh said.
“We knew that when we shared the vision of UW-Oshkosh for the years ahead, this community, this village, would speak loud and clear. They clearly share that vision and are deeply invested in it. Surpassing this year’s Titans Day of Giving goal, and doing so with an 88 percent increase over last year’s total, shows that UWO supporters are united behind the university’s mission to serve our region — its communities, its businesses, its nonprofits and its industries, from manufacturing to agriculture — by preparing students with the most advanced professional skills, the confidence to lead, and the ethos to be conscientious leaders.”
Funds collected during Titans Day of Giving support scholarships as well as academic and co-curricular programs at UW-Oshkosh. These resources provide additional opportunities for both students and faculty. Matching gifts from partners also contributed to reaching the new record.
Although Titans Day of Giving has ended for this year, university officials note that contributions can still be made throughout the year to benefit ongoing initiatives. Additional information about supporting UW-Oshkosh is available at https://uwosh.edu/foundation/.
