FOIA Request to Town of Black Wolf Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Fox Cities News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on November 5, 2024.
We believe that access to public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Therefore, we have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of dissemination.
Our role as journalists extends beyond just reporting news; it involves acting as watchdogs for the community by ensuring that government actions are transparent and accountable. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We look forward to receiving this information from the Town of Black Wolf so that we can continue our work in keeping the public informed about important local governmental affairs.
