Anthony Padilla, a faculty member at the Lawrence Conservatory of Music since 1997, is a distinguished piano teacher and performer. He received Lawrence University’s Award for Excellent Teaching in 2017, recognized for encouraging students to enhance their technique and develop their individual style and artistic voice. Lawrence senior combines mathematics and music in unique B.M.A. degree
Senior Eli Elder has found a unique path by combining his interests in mathematics and music through the Bachelor of Musical Arts (B.M.A.) degree at Lawrence University. The program, introduced in 2019, allows students to split their studies equally between music and another liberal arts field. Elder, from Highland Park, Illinois, chose mathematics as his secondary focus.

Lawrence University celebrated the accomplishments of students, faculty, and staff at the annual Honors Convocation on Friday afternoon. The event followed a Thursday evening Honors Awards Ceremony and Reception, where 144 students, two student organizations, and five faculty and staff were recognized with awards covering various aspects of university life, from academic honors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Conservatory of Music to leadership in Student Life and Athletics.

Monique Johnson named senior class speaker for Lawrence University's June commencement
Monique Johnson, a government major from Brooklyn, New York, has been named the senior class speaker for Lawrence University’s June 9 Commencement. Johnson, who plans to pursue law school after graduation, is among the youngest members of the 2024 graduating class. She arrived at Lawrence as a Posse Scholar in fall 2020 at the age of 16, having doubled up her sophomore and junior years of high school.
