The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) is inviting community members to participate in the Oshkosh Schools Academy for the 2025-2026 school year. This program, which lasts seven months, offers citizens a detailed look at how the district operates.
"The start of a new school year is a perfect time for our community to get involved," said OASD Superintendent Dr. Bryan Davis. "The Oshkosh Schools Academy program is a vital way for us to build a stronger partnership with the people we serve. This program gives participants a hands-on understanding of our operations, priorities, and mission. We're eager to welcome the next cohort and continue this important collaboration."
After its first run during the 2024-2025 academic year, the second cohort will begin in October and finish in April. Sessions will be held once a month on Fridays from 8-10 a.m. at the OASD Administration Office located at 215 S Eagle St. Topics will include district operations, academic priorities, and community engagement.
Applications are open until September 19, 2025, with space available for 20-30 participants. All applicants will be informed about their status by September 23.
Ashley Schneider, who participated as a parent in last year's academy, said: "The Schools Academy is an important bridge between the community and district." It’s helping create a more transparent, inclusive, and collaborative environment.”
Trina Woldt, representing the business community in last year's group, added: "The Oshkosh Schools Academy gave me a behind-the-scenes look at the passion, challenges, and dedication driving our schools. I feel more connected, informed, and ready to be part of the solution.”
