UW Oshkosh alumni share career updates, retirement, and achievements in April 2025 alumni notes

Norbert Hill, a University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumnus with degrees in Liberal Studies (1969) and a Master of Science in Education (1971), recently co-edited a book titled "Beyond Blood Quantum: Refusal to Disappear." Hill, who resides in Oneida, Wisconsin, contributed to this guide on community conversations addressing the impact of the Indian Reorganization Act on Native Nations and the discussions around citizenship.

Joseph Harris, a 1975 Education and Human Services graduate, dedicated his career to coaching and managing youth programs in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He retired in 2008 after years of service in sports and juvenile justice administration.

Keith Smith, holding a Liberal Studies degree from 1980, concluded a 42-year career as a groundwater geologist with South Florida Water Management District in 2022. Smith now divides his time between Florida and North Carolina.

Carolyn (Faehling) Dolezal, who graduated with a business degree in 1983, was named one of Illinois' Top 50 Women Leaders of 2025. She serves as the chief operating officer for the Americas’ SAP Users’ Group.

Debra (Sass) Ponath, a 1990 Liberal Studies alumna, joined the board of directors at the Fond du Lac Family YMCA. She continues her work in business development and marketing at Grande Cheese Company.

Diane Dietzel, a Nursing graduate from 1995, leads as administrator of the SSM Health Fond du Lac Market. Her career in healthcare spans nearly three decades, having previously served in various administrative roles.

Jimmy Danko, a 1999 Liberal Studies graduate, showcased his oil paintings titled "Monuments of Play" at the Seattle Art Museum. His art explores the dynamics of play versus competition.

Alysha (Rosenthal) Jordahl, since graduating in 2001 with an Education and Human Services degree, has taught music. She is currently serving the Anoka-Hennepin School District in Minnesota.

John Roberts, a 2002 Liberal Studies graduate, was recognized in 2024 with a second place in NAI Pfefferle's Broker of the Year competition. Roberts works as a senior commercial real estate advisor.

Plexus president and CEO Todd Kelsey, who completed his MBA in 2004, led the company to be named the 2025 Manufacturer of the Year in the Mega Category.

Kimberly (Kranz) Stauber, a 2009 Liberal Studies graduate, authored the children's book "Henry and the Truth Trap." She is married to Brett Stauber, also a UW Oshkosh alum.

Troy Winkelman, a 2015 Liberal Studies graduate from Oshkosh, oversees talent as the director at Northwestern Mutual. He is married to Ashley Weselenak-Winkelman, a fellow UW Oshkosh alum.

Said Hassan, who earned his Master of Public Administration in 2019, is the executive director of COSMA, supporting displaced immigrants and refugees in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Rachel White, a 2021 Education and Human Services graduate, teaches third grade and coaches dance teams in Wisconsin. She works at Wilson Elementary in West Allis and coaches for Oconomowoc High School and Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School.
