A group from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, led by Chancellor Andy Leavitt and Provost Ed Martini, visited Wisconsin's State Capitol this week. The visit, part of the "Titans Take to the Capitol 2025" event, involved nearly 20 students, faculty, staff, and alumni who engaged with legislators and their staff.
The event served as an opportunity for university leaders to present updates and priorities ahead of discussions on the state's 2025-27 biennial budget. During the visit on March 19, UWO representatives met with 20 state legislators and their teams.
One major focus was the proposed renovation of the UWO Polk Library into a "Polk Learning Commons," a project valued at $137.5 million. This initiative is included in Governor Tony Evers' capital budget proposal for 2025-27 and will be reviewed by the State Building Commission on March 24.
