The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh community remembers its alumni and faculty who have recently passed away. The following individuals are being honored for their contributions and connections to the university.
From the 1940s, Lillian Hildebrand, Bonita “Bunny” Klingbeil, and Norman Thiel are remembered. Joyce Buss, Frances Crain, Irene Giese, Robert “Bob” Karnes, Chester Luce, Frederick Paepke, Joan Rather, Virginia “Ginny” Steiner from the 1950s are also commemorated.
The 1960s saw the passing of Ronald Haartman, Alan Sprenger, and Karen “Nonny” Stuyvenberg. Alumni from the 1970s include Daniel Ankeney, Theresa Anstett, James Biernasz, Robert Fritz, Joyce Grau, Richard Gustke, Earl Luaders, Todd Popp, Sandra Simon, James “Touse” Theis and Mary Tyson.
In the 1980s Debra Heitkamp and Robert “Bob” Skubal are noted. Kelly Deaton and Kathryn “Katie” Dykes represent those from the 1990s. From more recent years in the 2000s and 2010s Jeff Franzmeier and Angela Hahn as well as Eric Boll have been acknowledged.
Faculty members Carol Anhalt and Frederic "Ted" Balser also passed away leaving behind a legacy at UW-Oshkosh through their work with students over many years.
