A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Charlestown regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024. The request was made by Fox Cities News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The specific records requested under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., were for a list of voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This request was preferably for an electronic format to ensure easy access and dissemination of information.
As part of our commitment at Fox Cities News, we continually strive to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill these professional responsibilities.
