Amber Gately, a 2023 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO), is set to embark on an exciting professional journey with the Boston Red Sox media team less than a year after completing her studies. Gately, a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan since childhood, will be a part of the broadcast production crew at the historic Fenway Park, as the team gears up for its home opener next week.

Gately attributes much of her success to the experiential learning she received as a UWO radio TV film major. Reflecting on her time at UWO, she shared, "What I learned at UW Oshkosh has pretty much everything to do with what I do now in my job—from knowing how things work in the control room, knowing each and every position."

Justine Stokes, UWO instructor and Titan TV general manager, commended Gately's dedication and creativity, stating, "It is an opportunity for ambitious, high-performing students like Amber to take chances creatively without the restrictions of assignments." Stokes expressed delight at Gately's achievements post-graduation and highlighted her journey from Boston to Oshkosh for her RTF education, emphasizing Gately's abilities and drive.

Gately's time at UWO was marked by her involvement in creating and hosting an award-winning talk show, "Anything But Average," which showcased her unique humor and perspective. Recalling the impact of her instructor's encouragement, Gately said, "One of the biggest things I remember from Justine was when she said I was funny and in that teeny, tiniest of remarks I still remember to this day how it gave me the confidence to host an entire TV show."

When asked about her transition from a childhood dream of becoming a pop star to her current role in the sports media industry, Gately shared, "Looking back now, I just wanted to be creative, and I’ve definitely found how to use my creativity through my work."

Gately's passion for baseball, particularly the Boston Red Sox, dates back to her early years, as she reminisced about attending games with her family and expressed her excitement about working at Fenway Park, a place she considers home.

As Gately embarks on this new chapter with the Boston Red Sox, her journey from UWO to prestigious roles with Harvard University and now the Red Sox serves as a testament to her talent, determination, and the valuable education she received at the University.
