The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) Education Foundation is gearing up to host its third annual fundraising gala on May 2, 2025, set against a Derby Day theme at The Waters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The event, described as a celebration of student athletics, co-curricular activities, and adapted sports, aims to support these vital programs within the district. Attendees must purchase their tickets by April 23.

The foundation previously organized successful fundraisers, raising substantial amounts for the district's fine arts and technical education programs. This year's event will continue that legacy, focusing on student-athletes and competitive programs.

Theresa Duren, the director of the OASD Education Foundation, stated, "We've seen firsthand how these programs develop leadership, teamwork, and resilience in our students. Now we need our community to come together and ensure these opportunities continue to thrive."

The gala will feature sports-themed games, displays of OASD athletic memorabilia, and competitions. Guests will have the chance to win prizes such as a Tyrese Haliburton signed Pacers jersey and a Door County vacation package.

Community support is encouraged through several venues: by purchasing gala tickets at $100 each, buying items from the 2025 Gala Wish List compiled by Oshkosh Area School District activities directors, or sponsoring a team directly.

This year's event is spearheaded by a team including Carrie Bores, Dawn Davis, Marla Kopeky, Morgan Meier, Meredith Ottman, Frank Seckar, Matt Sonnleitner, Dan Weisse, and Chris Wright.

Sponsors for the event include JEK Foundation at the Triple Crown level, Nicolet Bank and Bray Architects at the Garland of Roses level, HPS | PayMedix and Miron Construction at the Champion level, and Aither Health, LLC at the Promoter level. In-kind support is provided by Sturgeon Spirits and The Waters.

Tickets are available online, and further information can be accessed at the OASD Education Foundation website.
