Construction is underway at ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh, with efforts to recruit team members in progress. The new health campus aims to enhance healthcare access for northeast and central Wisconsin residents.
Located at 250 W. 6th Avenue on the Fox River in downtown Oshkosh, the center complements local redevelopment efforts. A significant portion of Oshkosh's population resides east of Interstate 41, while most healthcare services are situated west, leading to longer travel times for east-side residents.
“This campus will give our organization an opportunity to offer convenient care to more people in our communities, closer to where they live and work,” stated Robert Cavagnol, MD, MHA, FACS, North Region President of Froedtert ThedaCare Health. “We look forward to the continued construction and progress taking place at ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh.”
Since breaking ground in March 2024, construction partners such as Hplex Solutions (owner representative), HGA (architect and engineer), Miron Construction Co., Inc. (construction manager), and Sigma Group (civil engineer and landscape architect) have been active on-site.
Key milestones achieved include roof completion, near-completion of exterior masonry work, window frame installation with exterior glass expected by late spring or early summer, progress on mechanical systems installation, and ongoing interior wall framing and drywall work.
The facility is slated for completion in late 2025 with about 60 new jobs anticipated. Interested candidates can explore career opportunities at ThedaCare.org/Careers.
The hospital will provide comprehensive care around the clock upon completion. It spans approximately 114,000 sq. ft., representing an $84 million investment featuring emergency care services alongside inpatient beds. Additional offerings include CT scans available 24/7 along with x-ray and ultrasound capabilities; mammogram, MRI services; a retail pharmacy; ambulatory surgery center with operating rooms; plus a medical office building for primary care and specialties.
Plans also include a third-floor addition measuring 28,000 sq. ft., reflecting evolving community needs with potential service expansions over time.
“ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh will allow our organization to continue improving the health of those living in the area,” remarked Jenny Nikolai, MBA, PMP, FACHE Vice President of ThedaCare Medical Centers-Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. “We’re looking forward to continuing care for the people of Oshkosh to provide the level of expertise they deserve.”
