Rob Gordon, a custodian at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, has been awarded the January 2025 STAR Award. He works in the department of custodial services and is supervised by Vicki Stadler. Julia Hodgen, an executive assistant at the university, nominated him for his outstanding work.

Hodgen highlighted Gordon's dedication to maintaining Dempsey Hall. She stated, "Rob takes such good care of Dempsey and makes sure everyone has everything they need." She noted that when Gordon is absent, it is noticeable because "the building just isn’t as clean."

Gordon's commitment was further demonstrated during his annual deep cleaning efforts when he successfully removed a stubborn carpet stain. His attention to detail extends beyond routine tasks; he also ensures thorough cleaning of window screens and interiors after outside vendors finish their work.

Hodgen praised Gordon's problem-solving skills as well. Recently, he identified and resolved a mysterious odor issue emanating from a closet in Dempsey Hall. Hodgen described him as "friendly, hardworking and just an overall wonderful person and employee," expressing gratitude for his contributions.

Gordon received the award from UWO Chancellor Andrew Leavitt.
