The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is set to advance its educational offerings with the approval of two significant projects by the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents. These initiatives include a renovation of the Music Hall and the introduction of a new bachelor's degree program in business analytics, both slated for 2025.

The Music Hall renovation, funded by a $2.8 million state grant, aims to enhance accessibility and acoustical performance. The project will introduce new vestibule areas, wheelchair seating, improved ventilation systems, tiered seating configurations, handrails, aisle lighting, and updated seats. Instructional technology upgrades will also be part of the renovation, featuring audio/video systems and advanced lighting controls.

Nathan Krueger, associate professor of music and department chair at UW-Oshkosh, expressed enthusiasm about the project: “The students are excited about the upgrades. All of the students, both majors and non-majors who participate in ensembles will get the experience of an top-rate acoustical environment that will enrich their artistic experience." Construction is expected to begin in June 2025 with completion by year-end.

In addition to physical improvements on campus, UW-Oshkosh is expanding its academic programs with a new Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Analytics. This program builds upon existing certificate and minor options in business analytics at UWO. It aims to equip students with skills in statistical analysis, spreadsheet analysis, data visualization, basic programming knowledge in Python, database management, and communication of analytical interpretations.

Student interest has been strong for business analytics courses at UWO. The labor market within 100 miles shows demand for over 200 jobs requiring data analysis skills and more than 300 high-paying positions statewide that require these competencies.

The new bachelor's degree program will be available starting fall semester 2025.
