A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Kimberly, Wisconsin, regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024. The request specifically sought a list of individuals who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, Fox Cities News submitted this request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and requested that the information be provided in an electronic format.
The purpose of this request is to fulfill our professional responsibilities as journalists which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As part of our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
