Notice to Water Customers: Flushing Hydrants

Water106

City of Neenah issued the following announcement on April 5.

Notice to Water Customers: Water Department crews will be flushing hydrants in the following area:

Starting April 18th North of Cecil Street

Starting Approximately May 16th South of Cecil Street

Flushing will be conducted from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to remove accumulated rust and mineral deposits. If hydrants are being flushed near your home, please DO NOT USE WATER for approximately one-half hour to allow any fine particles to settle down. If you run water and notice discoloration, DO NOT RUN YOUR HOT WATER. Wait 15 minutes. Then flush out the rusty, discolored water through your COLD water faucet. Although the water may temporarily be somewhat discolored, it is safe to drink. The discoloration is the result of rust and mineral deposits being scoured from the inside of the pipes.

Your help and cooperation is appreciated and will benefit all water customers. If you have questions, please call 920-886-6191.
