Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce issued the following on Sep. 24
Octoberfest 2020 Reimagined Event Kick-Off
From the very first Octoberfest in 1981 to today, the Octoberfest mission remains the same – to set a stage for non-profit organizations to showcase the good work they do in our community and make money as food vendors, wristband sellers, and more. To date, Octoberfest has reinvested nearly 3 million dollars into our community.
As was shared back in May, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional Octoberfest and License to Cruise events are not being held this year, but we promised to create an event(s) that would allow us to continue to meet our mission – to raise money and awareness of local non-profits and support local businesses.
Following through on that promise, the Octoberfest Planning Committee announced an application process to encourage non-profits and small businesses to partner to raise awareness, support and money. “We’re thrilled to see a number of unique partnerships between our local non-profits and small businesses,” said Eric Stadler, Chair of the Octoberfest Planning Committee. “Beginning this weekend and continuing through October, people will have several unique opportunities to support non-profits and local businesses who need our help now more than ever.”
“The Chamber is committed to building a strong and prosperous community,” said Becky Bartoszek, President/CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber. “Octoberfest has long been a key event to help meet that mission and although it looks different this year, we are proud to help support our local non-profits and small businesses through Octoberfest Reimagined.”
