Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 20
The three day Paperfest Rockin’ Drive-in Concerts held this week at Fox Cities Stadium on July 23-25 will replace the canceled Paperfest event for 2020. The 32nd annual Paperfest and the Combined Locks Centennial Celebration have been postponed until next year – July 15-18, 2021.
Vic Ferrari Symphony on the Rocks, Boogie and the Yo Yo’z, and Road Trip will be the headline acts for the three nights thanks to Community First Credit Union, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Event Production Systems, and Woodward Radio Group.
“We would like to thank our wonderful community for the tremendous support throughout this process,” said Matthew Boots, Paperfest Director. “It has been our goal to bring the community an event that is both fun and safe. This unique drive-in event with some of the top bands in the area continues to create a lot of excitement and is received with open arms from businesses, volunteers, and fans.”
It’s time to enjoy live music again – at a safe distance. This three night concert series put on by Paperfest allows fans to enjoy the show from their car or get out and sit in a lawn chair or dance around. Admission is per car and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will have food and beverage needs covered. Concession stands will be open inside Fox Cities Stadium as well as beverage golf carts sponsored by Fox Communities Credit Union will be traveling around the parking lot. There are tickets available for each night and they can be purchased through the Timber Rattlers box office or online at www.rockindrivein.com.
As the sun goes down, the lights go up in a big way for this massive production of lights, sound, and video all on an elevated stage. Vic Ferrari with Symphony on the Rock headlines Thursday night. Friday has American Platinum opening up for Boogie and the Yo-Yoz. Wrapping up the weekend will feature Ask Your Mother and Road Trip on Saturday. As if great local live music wasn’t enough, the Kamps Bar & Grill Fireworks Show will also be on Saturday night at dusk.
“This event is all about local, and held for local – local bands, local sponsors, and local nonprofits,” said Boots. “This year has brought on many new challenges resulting in a change in structure but the goal remains the same. Funds from Paperfest are donated directly back into the community. Throughout the 31-year history of Paperfest, over $856,000 has gone back to more than 50 local nonprofit, civic and service organizations such as fire departments, school groups, and Boy Scout troops.”
Gates open at 5pm each night with the headline act taking the stage at 7:30pm. Tickets are $30 per car for general admission and for those that want to get a little closer VIP tickets can be purchased for $60 per car. Social distancing guidelines will be followed with the goal of having a safe concert experience for all.
