More than a dozen organizations in the New London area have received $105,000 in grants from the ThedaCare Medical Center-New London Quasi Endowment Fund. The grants aim to improve community health, health care outreach, education, patient care, rehabilitation, and wellness services in the Wolf River Area. The communities benefiting from these grants include New London, Clintonville, Manawa, Hortonville, Marion, Weyauwega, Shiocton, Fremont, and Embarrass.

“Providing much-needed support for these local organizations is well within our mission of working to improve the health and well-being of the communities in which we serve,” said Jenny Derks, Vice President of ThedaCare Medical Centers-New London and Waupaca. “These grant recipients are aiding our efforts by filling critical gaps of support needed in our communities – shelter, nutritious food, domestic violence services, mentorship, childcare supports and more.”

Fifteen recipients were named for 2025 funding. Harbor House Domestic & Sexual Violence Programs will use its grant to support its Crisis and Shelter Program for victims of abuse. Allen Mattson Wheelchair Ramp Foundation will use funds to build ramps for residents with mobility challenges in the Clintonville School District.

Other beneficiaries include Clintonville Community Meal and Clintonville Goodfellows Association; the former provides meals to community members while the latter distributes winter clothing to families in need. The Clintonville Fire Department’s grant will go toward emergency responder communication equipment.

Hope & Help Together will fund its Driver Education Program assisting Haitian refugees and immigrants in New London. Manawa Rural Ambulance Service plans to purchase an IV infusion pump with its award. Rawhide Youth Services will support youth mental health through its Community Counseling Program.

The Embarrass Volunteer Fire Department will buy medical equipment such as AEDs and communication devices. Compassionate Connections Center’s Nutrition Mission backpack program aims to address weekend food insecurity among students on free or reduced lunch programs.

Additional funding goes to New London Area First Responders for training costs; Trinity Lutheran Church’s Grab and Go Meals program; New London Lions Club’s vision screenings and eyeglass purchases; Project Backpack New London’s student food program; and several initiatives at School District of New London—including purchasing AEDs for schools and extracurricular areas, supporting mental health resources through a partnership with Cartwheel (a national virtual mental health service), parenting skill workshops via Little Bulldogs Community Connection-Positive Parenting Practices, expanding intramural sports at New London High School, and supporting Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX) Girls Empowerment Program.

The ThedaCare Foundation-New London Fundraising and Grants Committee reviews applications annually. Applications for 2026 funding open in January. For further information or inquiries about next year’s process, interested parties can contact NLQuasi@thedacare.org.
