The Oshkosh Area School District has announced that Brian Yerkey will take on the role of Assistant Superintendent of Operations. The district's Board of Education approved his appointment during a regular meeting held on August 13, and he is set to begin his duties on August 25.

Yerkey joins the district after serving as Principal at both New London High School and Catalyst Academy Charter School. With more than two decades of experience in public education and operational leadership, he has contributed to the development of several district-level strategic plans and worked with Key Performance Indicators. He has also led efforts to revise and maintain Standard Response Protocols for school safety, acted as a lead for District Crisis Teams, managed annual budgets, and overseen building projects aimed at improving efficiency. Yerkey holds a Master of Arts in Education from Marian University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

OASD Superintendent Dr. Bryan Davis stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Brian Yerkey to this vital leadership role. He brings a wealth of experience from outside our district, and his vision for optimizing our operational functions aligns perfectly with our strategic goals. His expertise in fostering strong partnerships and his experience in financial stewardship and sustainable infrastructure development will be invaluable as we continue to enhance the support systems for our students, staff, and schools.”

Brian Yerkey commented on his new position: “I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Oshkosh Area School District as the Assistant Superintendent of Operations. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in a district that shares similar core values and believes in strengthening community through education. I am eager to work alongside the dedicated staff, families, and community to ensure our operations are not only efficient and effective, but also directly support a learning environment where every student can succeed.”

According to the Oshkosh Area School District, an extensive interview process was conducted involving staff members from various levels within the organization, community partners, and district leaders before selecting Yerkey for this position. The role became vacant when Julie Conrad retired earlier this year; she is now Superintendent at Lake Wales Charter School District in Florida.
