Bryan Davis, Superintendent | Oshkosh Area School District
Melanie Wroblewski has been recommended to become the new Academic and Career Planning (ACP) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator for the Oshkosh Area School District. The recommendation will be presented to the Board of Education at its meeting on August 13. If approved, Wroblewski will start her new role on August 18.
Wroblewski has worked in the district for 18 years, most recently as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Carl Traeger Middle School. She is also a graduate of the district. Wroblewski holds a master's degree in Technology and Education and is pursuing a doctorate in Career and Technical Education Leadership, focusing her dissertation on Academic and Career Planning.
"We are incredibly excited to recommend Melanie for this role," said Dr. Sam Coleman, OASD assistant superintendent of instruction. "Her extensive experience as an educator, combined with her commitment to lifelong learning and passion for student success, makes her the ideal candidate to lead our CTE and ACP initiatives. Melanie's leadership will be crucial as we strengthen our partnerships with local businesses and ensure every student is prepared for their future."
The ACP and CTE Coordinator position was created to align with the district's strategic plan, aiming to prepare all students for college, careers, and community involvement. In this role, Wroblewski will help integrate Academic and Career Planning into classroom instruction, work with business partners in the community, oversee federal Perkins grant administration, and lead curriculum development within CTE.
This recommendation comes after Vicki Porior retired from the district following more than 30 years of service, including time as CTE curriculum coordinator.
