A recent economic impact analysis conducted by a University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh economist has revealed the significant financial influence of the EAA AirVenture event on the Fox Valley region. The study, led by Professor David Fuller with assistance from his students, determined that in 2024, the aeronautical event contributed $257 million to the regional economy. This is a notable increase from $170 million reported in 2017.

The release of this report coincides with the upcoming 2025 AirVenture, scheduled to take place from July 21-27 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh. The study was commissioned by the Experimental Aircraft Association and involved surveying patrons and vendors to assess their spending within the local economy.

Professor Fuller highlighted that "this study showcases the significant economic footprint of EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh and the greater Fox Valley region." He noted that the event not only brings substantial financial benefits but also supports approximately 2,100 jobs across the region, including $117 million and 815 jobs specifically within Oshkosh.

Visitors attending AirVenture contribute to various sectors by purchasing lodging, food, drinks, gas, retail items such as clothing and supplies. This underscores AirVenture's value to both Oshkosh and its surrounding areas.

Fuller expressed pride in UW–Oshkosh's involvement in producing this analysis. "Faculty-led research and student involvement in survey work reflects the university’s commitment to community engagement and real-world impact," he stated. He emphasized that such studies are made possible through UW–Oshkosh's intellectual resources and strong community connections.
