The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh community gathered to welcome their new Chancellor, Manohar Singh, on his second official day in the role. The open house event at the Chancellor’s Office provided an opportunity for faculty and staff to meet Dr. Singh. During brief remarks, he expressed that leading UWO is a significant honor.

Singh succeeds Andrew Leavitt as UWO's 12th chancellor, having officially taken over on July 1. Before joining UW–Oshkosh, Singh served as interim president of Western Connecticut State University since 2023. His previous roles include Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. He has also held leadership positions at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California; Penn State University Abington in Abington, Pennsylvania; and Long Island University Post in Brookville, New York. Additionally, Singh has been a finance professor at several universities.

Jay Rothman, president of the Universities of Wisconsin, highlighted Singh's belief in higher education's transformative power and his collaborative leadership style when announcing his selection in April: “As a first-generation college graduate, Manohar Singh believes in the power of higher education to improve lives and is a collaborative leader who builds consensus.”
