A new campaign titled "Growing Roots, Finding Wings" was launched on June 6 at the New North Summit held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The initiative aims to emphasize the value of college education and its long-term impact on individuals and the economic vitality of Northeast Wisconsin.

The campaign is a collaborative effort involving area business leaders and ten higher-education institutions working with New North Inc., a regional marketing and economic development corporation for 18 counties in Northeast Wisconsin. The goal is to highlight why the New North region is an ideal place to "grow your roots and find your wings."

The digital marketing campaign will feature testimonial videos from New North board members, key regional leaders, and alumni from participating institutions. These videos will be supported by website landing pages, blog posts, and information about the quality of life in the region.

Barb LaMue, president and CEO of New North Inc., stated that the campaign underscores the competitive advantage of the region due to its collaborative educational institutions, low cost of living, high quality of life, diverse industry sectors, career pathways, and companies' recognition of lifelong learning's importance.

“We understand the current uncertainty about the value of a college education," said LaMue. "'Growing Roots, Finding Wings' is our chance to share why higher education is ‘worth it.’ It’s been proven that those with a two or four-year degree have better job prospects, more career advancement opportunities, higher lifetime earnings, valuable skills development, enhanced benefits and greater civic engagement."

LaMue added that collaboration between educational institutions and area companies sets New North apart by creating an effective transition from college to careers.

The campaign focuses on five primary themes: building strong connections; establishing a strong foundation; fostering personal growth; nurturing a thriving ecosystem; and empowering future generations.

Participating institutions include College of Menominee Nation, Fox Valley Technical College, Lakeland University, Lakeshore College, Lawrence University, Moraine Park Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, St. Norbert College, UW Oshkosh and UW-Green Bay.

Promotion for "Growing Roots, Finding Wings" will occur through various channels including paid digital ads with Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation support as well as social media outreach across educational and business communities in conjunction with national content marketer Livability Media.

New North Inc., a non-profit organization fostering collaboration among private and public sector leaders throughout Northeast Wisconsin's 18 counties—Brown County included—shared this announcement. More information can be found at www.thenewnorth.com.
