Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman has announced the finalists for the chancellor position at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. The university serves nearly 13,000 students, ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels, including high school learners.

The selection of finalists was conducted by a Special Regent Committee, based on candidates identified by a 14-member Search and Screen Committee. This committee was led by Regent Ashok Rai as chair and Andrew Smock, Associate Professor in the Department of Radio TV Film, College of Letters & Science, as vice chair.

The finalists, in alphabetical order, are:

- Robert Brinkmann, Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

- Amy Hietapelto, Dean, Labovitz School of Business and Economics, University of Minnesota-Duluth, Duluth, Minnesota.

- Manohar Singh, Interim President, Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, Connecticut.

- Joe Whitehead, Senior Advisor to the President for Regional Science Initiatives, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

Next week, the candidates will engage in campus forums, providing an opportunity for direct interaction with students, faculty, staff, and community members. They will also participate in a public conversation.

Following the collection of campus feedback, Rothman and the Special Regent Committee, which includes Regents Desmond Adongo, Haben Goitom, Jim Kreuser, Timothy Nixon, Karen Walsh, and chair Regent Rai, will conduct interviews with the finalists. The committee will then recommend one candidate to the Board of Regents for approval.

The individual chosen will become the 12th leader of UW-Oshkosh.
