Two alumnae of Lawrence University, Ann Skala and Rebecca Sullivan, have joined the university's Board of Trustees. They were welcomed to their new roles in early January 2025 as term trustees for three-year terms, with the possibility of re-election for up to four consecutive terms.
President Laurie A. Carter expressed her enthusiasm about their appointments, stating, "It is an honor to welcome Ann and Rebecca back to Lawrence as members of the Board of Trustees. Their commitment to Lawrence and the knowledge and expertise they have developed through their impressive careers will serve them well as they join other trustees in advancing our mission."
Ann Skala is the proprietor of AT Skala Designs LLC, a company specializing in interior decoration and renovation that she founded in 2010. Her previous experience includes working as a financial analyst at Frank Russell in London and as an associate research analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein in New York. Skala holds a bachelor's degree in government from Lawrence University, an MBA in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business, and a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the New York School of Interior Design. During her time at Lawrence, she was active in athletics and student organizations.
Rebecca Sullivan is retired after serving as Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources at Ingalls Advertising. Her career included managing significant accounts such as Converse, Ocean Spray, and TJ Maxx before transitioning into human resources management. She also worked on McDonald's advertising account at Arnold Worldwide and held positions at Major Market Radio. Sullivan graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from Lawrence University where she was involved with Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Post-graduation, she continued contributing to the university through various volunteer roles.
