Construction at the ThedaCare Medical Center-Fond du Lac is moving forward, with the organization having initiated work on the site in February 2024. This new health campus aims to enhance access to healthcare for residents of northeast and central Wisconsin.
Robert Cavagnol, MD, MHA, FACS, North Region President of Froedtert ThedaCare Health, expressed optimism about the development. “We are encouraged by the progress taking place at ThedaCare Medical Center-Fond du Lac, and are excited as some of the final stages of construction are nearing completion,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of providing convenient access to care for patients and communities in Fond du Lac.
Located at 755 W. Johnson St., the campus will be part of a retail district near Interstate 41. Jenny Nikolai, vice president of ThedaCare Medical Centers-Fond du Lac and Oshkosh, noted the increasing demand for healthcare services in Fond du Lac. “By understanding the needs of this community, we want to create a new health campus close to where more people live and work,” she said.
The facility is projected to cover approximately 25,000 square feet with an investment of $35 million. It will offer emergency care services around the clock with board-certified emergency medicine physicians available at all times. Additional services include 24/7 CT scans, x-rays, and ultrasounds for outpatient access.
Construction crews have been working on various aspects such as flooring installation, interior painting, securing local artwork, and preparing medical equipment installation after New Year’s Day. Exterior efforts focus on site grading and concrete work.
The project involves several partners: Hplex Solutions as owner representative; HGA as architect and engineer; Miron Construction Co., Inc. as construction manager; and Sigma Group handling civil engineering and landscape architecture tasks.
The completion date for both Fond du Lac and Oshkosh campuses is set for 2025.
