The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) has announced the launch of the Oshkosh Schools Academy, a six-month program aimed at offering community members a deeper understanding of the district's mission and strategic priorities.
"The Oshkosh Schools Academy is an excellent way for our community to get an inside look at the operations, leadership, and governance of the Oshkosh Area School District,” said Dr. Bryan Davis, superintendent of the OASD. "We are excited to offer this immersive program and look forward to engaging with participants who are passionate about understanding and supporting public education in Oshkosh."
Scheduled to begin in January 2025 and conclude in June 2025, the program will feature monthly sessions on topics such as district operations, academic priorities, staff development, and community engagement. Participants will also take part in a book study on "Schools Cannot Do it Alone" by Jamie Vollmer.
Applications for the academy are open until December 11, 2024. The program can accommodate between 20 to 30 participants. If applications exceed 30, participants will be selected randomly. Those not chosen for this cycle will be placed on a waiting list for the next session in 2025-2026.
