In a recent episode of UWO Now, host Wendell Ray delved into the subject of cryptocurrency. Ray noted, “We all understand dollars and cents. It is currency,” adding that traditional money is tangible and exchangeable. He contrasted this with cryptocurrency, which has been around for about 15 years but remains elusive to many.

Ray introduced Steven Schilhabel, an assistant professor of Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business, to explain concepts such as blockchains and Bitcoin, the most well-known cryptocurrency.

UWO Now is a biweekly radio show and podcast featuring faculty, staff, students, and alumni from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh discussing various current issues. Topics range from food insecurity to sustainability both at home and on campus.

The program can be accessed on platforms like Apple, Google, Spotify, Amazon, and YouTube. It also airs Fridays at 5:30 p.m. on 90.3 WRST-FM.
