Oshkosh Area School District Superintendent Bryan Davis (2023) | Oshkosh Area School District
The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) has engaged with the community over the last two months to gather feedback on Phase 2 of its facilities plan. More than 300 community members participated in various sessions to share their insights and suggestions.
The collected feedback will be presented to the school board on November 13. Those who could not attend or wish to review the details can access a recording on the OASD's facilities webpage or watch it on Oshkosh Media's govTV.
OASD expressed gratitude to all participants, emphasizing the importance of community input in shaping a shared understanding of the district's facility needs. The four-phase consolidation plan was developed by the community in 2019 and received board approval.
Phase 1 concluded with Menominee Elementary's opening in September 2024, introducing a new middle and elementary school on the north side and implementing security upgrades across the district.
Currently, Phase 2 targets improvements on the west side, including plans for a new or renovated South Park Middle School, expansions at Oakwood, Carl Traeger, and Franklin schools to house up to 600 students each, converting Shapiro into a pre-kindergarten center, constructing a new auditorium at Oshkosh North, and relocating both the Oshkosh Recreation Department and alternative school programming to Perry Tipler.
The school board will deliberate over the coming months on future actions, which may include an April 2025 referendum.
The district appreciates ongoing community involvement and is committed to creating optimal learning environments for Oshkosh students, aiming to prepare them for college, careers, and active citizenship.
