UW Oshkosh prepares for Homecoming Weekend and Family Day celebrations

Homecoming Weekend is approaching at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, coinciding with Family Day. The UW-Oshkosh Titans will face the Pioneers of UW-Platteville in the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Titan Stadium. The game starts at 1:30 p.m., and the Titan Thunder Marching Band will perform for students, family members, friends, and alumni.

The Titan Tailgate event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Reeve Memorial Union, offering free food, drinks, and activities.

During Homecoming Weekend, the UW Oshkosh Alumni Association will honor 13 alumni for their achievements. Four alumni will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, two will receive the Alumni Outstanding Service Award, and seven will be honored with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

The UWO Alumni Awards Celebration is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. at the Culver Family Welcome Center. The event costs $40 per person and includes dinner.

October also marks several anniversaries: The Advance-Titan student newspaper’s 130th Reunion on Oct. 12; Radio TV Film’s 60th anniversary on Oct. 18-19; Delta Sigma Phi-Epsilon Beta’s 60th anniversary reunion on Oct. 18-19; and Model UN's 40th Anniversary Reunion on Oct. 19.
