Menominee Elementary School represents a new chapter in Oshkosh's educational landscape. Opened for the 2024-2025 school year, this state-of-the-art facility unites the former Merrill, Washington, and Webster Stanley Elementary School communities.
The school features several innovative elements designed to enhance the learning experience:
- Flexible learning spaces to accommodate various teaching styles and group sizes
- A media center with an adjacent makerspace to foster creativity and hands-on learning
- A modern gymnasium for physical education and community events
- A dedicated community room for school and public use
- Leading-edge safety systems to ensure a secure learning environment
Overlooking Lake Winnebago and situated across from Menominee Park, the school's location provides a picturesque backdrop for learning and community engagement.
Menominee Elementary School is more than just a new building; it's a testament to the community's dedication to education. Funded as part of the $107 million capital referendum approved by voters in November 2020, this school marks the completion of the first phase of the District's four-phase long-range facilities plan.
At the open house, attendees will have opportunities to:
- Participate in the official dedication ceremony
- Tour the new facility at their own pace
- Explore innovative learning spaces
- Meet with school staff and district representatives
- Learn about the school's features and educational programs
Parking will be available on-site at Menominee Elementary, with additional parking on nearby streets around the school. Guests can enter through:
- Main entrance on Hazel Street (Door 1)
- E Melvin Street entrance (Door 13)
- Back parking lot entrance (Door 5)
The district encourages all community members—families, educators, and residents alike—to join this momentous occasion. It is an opportunity to celebrate collective investment in Oshkosh's children’s future and witness firsthand the incredible learning environment created together.
