UW Oshkosh alumni make notable achievements across diverse fields

John Sitek, a 1979 alumnus of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, will have Higley Stadium behind Marinette High School named after him. Sitek has dedicated over 40 years to student athletes at the school as a coach and physical education teacher. He is married to Judy (Loiselle) Sitek, a 1971 alumna.

Brenda (Schuett) Lau, a 1983 graduate, wrote and directed the feature documentary "QUEER CHURCH," now available on Amazon. The film tells a story of diversity, inclusion, and resilience.

Craig Heilman, who graduated in 1990, was appointed deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). Previously, he served as division administrator for DFI’s Division of Corporate and Consumer Services.

Steven Lutzke from the class of 1991 is now principal at St. Rita Catholic School in Rockford, Illinois. He previously worked as district administrator for Parkview School District in Orfordville for 15 years.

Lisa (Van Matre) Jossart, a 1992 alumna from Green Bay, was named vice president of economic development for the Greater Green Bay Chamber of Commerce. She brings over 30 years of experience in business strategy and community engagement.

Suzanne (Weber) Porath from the class of 1993 and with an MSE degree from 1999 is an associate professor at Kansas State University.

John Scheelk, who graduated in 1994, was elected incoming president of Intertel, an international society for intellectually gifted individuals. His term begins in January.

Geoff Clapp from the class of 1995 is an associate pastor at Evangel Baptist Church in Weirton, West Virginia.

Pat Mahoney also from the class of '95 serves as River Valley School District’s business manager. He has been involved in teaching business and alternative education and coaching wrestling for over two decades.

Jamie (Wasserman) Zehren from the same year works as a human resource assistant at Tri-County Human Services in Lakeland, Florida. She recently celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary.

Amy Betters-Midtvedt from the class of '96 authored "You’ll Make It (and They Will Too)-Everything No One Talks About When You’re Parenting Teens," offering insights into parenting teenagers.

Joey (Vanderzanden) Reader from '97 received New North Region’s Women of Influence-Business Owner Award. She owns A-Mazing Events LLC in Little Chute.

Kelly (Risner) Heroux from '98 celebrated two decades as president and CEO of Peshtigo National Bank.

Terri Kallsen from '99 was elected as the CFP Board chair-elect for 2025. She is currently senior operating partner at Rise Growth Partners.

Kyle Lentz also from '99 marked his 25th year with Hamacher Resources Group Inc., where he serves as an HBC Category Analyst.

Tina Seashore graduated both in '99 and with an MBA in '15. She is executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Menasha Corporation after serving as vice president at its subsidiary Menasha Packaging Company.

Barb (Fleisner) LaMue from '01 received New North Region’s Women of Influence-Lifetime Achievement Award. She is president and CEO of New North Inc.

Randall Zietlow from '03 became CFO at Prevail Bank based in Medford after more than two decades in banking; he will work out of Stevens Point branch.

Sarah Endter graduated in '04 and now holds the position of vice president of underwriting services at SECURA Insurance based in Appleton.

Lukas Steiner from '07 was appointed by Governor Evers to serve as Crawford County Circuit Court judge after more than ten years practicing law including time as Crawford County District Attorney.

Emily (Lokken) Willey from '09 showcased her aviation artwork at the Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture event this year.

Evan Wendlandt graduated in ‘11 and serves as director of economic development for Windsor Town; he brings fifteen years’ experience.

Julia Mader earned her degree in ‘12; she now serves as vice-chair within American Bar Association Trust & Estate Employee Plans & Executive Compensation Group while working with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.

Brooke Bayer graduated six years ago working across entertainment industry roles such as production coordinator art coordinator special effects foreman on various projects commercials television shows movies.

Edward Schmitz earned his MBA three years ago joined Marshall Village Board this July besides being senior compliance program manager Promega Corporation former U.S Marine.

Josh Cavender recent graduate began role general assignment reporter WLUK-Fox11 Fox Valley area Illinois resident.
