A University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumnus and noted technology futurist will give an address next month that explores the opportunity and technology-driven change accelerated by artificial intelligence.

Daniel Burrus ’71, a previous UWO honorary degree recipient, will speak at the Chancellor’s Executive Breakfast, taking place from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Culver Family Welcome Center. The cost is $25, with limited seating available. RSVP by Sept. 12 at uwo.sh/executivebreakfast.

The morning schedule includes:

7:30 a.m., Registration and breakfast

8 a.m., Welcome from Chancellor Andy Leavitt

8:05 a.m., Keynote presentation by Daniel Burrus, CEO of Burrus Research

Burrus bills his presentation as “The Anticipatory Leader: Using Hard Trends and AI to Accelerate Innovation and Growth.”

"There has never been a greater opportunity in history to transform every process, service, and product." He emphasizes that the exponential pace of technology-driven change accelerated by AI creates significant opportunities for leaders to elevate their business models.

By learning to separate the Hard Trends that will happen from the Soft Trends that might happen, "leaders can accurately anticipate technology-driven disruptions before they disrupt, problems before they happen, customers’ needs before they express them, and game-changing opportunities before the competition."

AI-driven tools and strategies are revolutionizing how leaders and their employees solve problems, drive successful innovation, and execute strategy. By leveraging AI safely and securely, leaders can gain unprecedented insights into their organization’s performance as well as customer behavior patterns that expose strategies for creating hyper-personalized experiences to grow brand loyalty and consumer engagement.

In this presentation by the global technology futurist—disruptive innovation expert, serial entrepreneur, and New York Times bestselling author of seven books—Burrus shares important trends shaping the future and the opportunities they provide. As a strategic adviser to both the military and leading companies on AI, he will bring clarity to the current state of AI technology and its potential to free up human resources for higher-value activities fostering new levels of innovation and growth.

Mastering these capabilities along with strategically implementing AI will position leaders to turn disruption into opportunity driving innovation and profitable growth.

RSVP by Sept. 12
