Diane Bast, a Combined Locks resident and member of the St. Paul's parish, said having Tim Walz on the Democratic ticket will spread "extreme progressive crazy" policies across America.

“The only voters who can be happy with this pick are those who live in Minnesota because they will be happy to be rid of Tim Walz!” Bast said. “The pick threatens to spread Minnesota's unique brand of extreme progressive crazy to the rest of America. Midwest and rural voters will not be fooled! Our values are much better represented by J.D. Vance than by Tim Walz, so the Walz pick won't help Kamala Harris in the Midwest swing states at all."

Presidential Nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

Tim Walz is the “most left-wing” of all of Harris’ potential running mates. He was endorsed by Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, and other far left-wing Democrats who viewed Kamala Harris’ other potential options as “too moderate.”

“This is a guy who has proposed shipping more manufacturing jobs to China, who wants to make the American people more reliant on garbage energy instead of good American energy, and has proposed defunding the police just as Kamala Harris does,” said Republican Vice-President nominee J.D. Vance. “They make an interesting tag team because Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020, and the few that got caught, Kamala Harris helped bail them out of jail.”

“Walz is responsible for the cruelest and most inhumane abortion laws in America. As Governor, he signed into law taxpayer funded abortion for anyone, at any time, for any reason, right up to birth,” said civil rights attorney Roger Severino.

Walz was the governor of Minnesota during COVID-19 lockdowns and during the Black Lives Matter riots. Minnesota saw some of the worst destruction in the country during these riots; stores were ransacked, streets trashed, and a police station burned to the ground; with little to no repercussions for the protestors.

During the lockdowns Walz set up an anonymous reporting system to allow people to snitch on their neighbors if they saw them breaking the mandated lockdown.

Tim Walz has been the governor of Minnesota since 2018 and won re-election in 2022. He served in the Army National Guard before being elected in 2006 to serve in the United States House of Representatives for Minnesota’s First Congressional District in Southern Minnesota.
