Nearly eight out of ten Titans from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's class of 2022-23 graduated with a career opportunity in Wisconsin and an average starting salary 2.7 percent higher than the previous class.

This trend is highlighted in the latest UWO First Destination Outcomes Report, which surveys baccalaureate degree candidates before graduation and follows up six months later. The report covers data from 1,566 bachelor's degree earners.

Key findings include:

- A strong response rate: The survey had a 93 percent response rate, significantly higher than the National Association of Colleges and Employers' best practice.

- High employment rates: 76 percent of the class secured employment before graduation, a 6.6 percent increase from five years ago.

- Rising salaries: Average starting salaries for graduates surpassed $55,000, with College of Nursing graduates averaging over $70,000.

- Retention in Wisconsin: Of the class, 84.4 percent of Wisconsin residents remained in-state post-graduation; 30.9 percent of non-residents also stayed.

"UWO talent drives growth and supplies leadership in the Fox Valley region and beyond," said Chancellor Andrew Leavitt. "Thank you to the hundreds of organizations and partners who provide internships and classroom-connected learning experiences for our students."

The report is managed by UWO Career & Professional Development, which provides career guidance for students.

"Our impressive 93% overall response rate reinforces the unique value of a UW Oshkosh degree," said Jaime Page-Stadler, executive director of UWO Career & Professional Development. "With 76% securing jobs before graduation in top industries including healthcare, manufacturing, education and more, our graduates are prepared for success."

Alumna Anna Murphy-Pociask '23 has joined the Green Bay Packers social media team after internships with various organizations during her time at UWO. She credits her university experience for her professional growth.

"Not only has UW Oshkosh given me hands-on experiences and mentors but also lifelong friendships," she said.

Employers have also praised UWO graduates:

"Working with faculty and staff at UWO has been amazing," said Payton Zimmer from Northwestern Mutual. "We are honored to partner with UWO."

"Their eagerness to learn strengthens team engagement," said Katie Ball from ThedaCare.

"The talent we have had from UWO has been extraordinary," added Jesse Lentz from Mativ.
