The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community mourns the loss of several alumni and faculty members who passed away in recent months. The following individuals are remembered for their contributions and connection to the university.
From the 1940s, Maxine (Gaddis) Cristy, a graduate of both EHS in 1947 and 1984, passed away on May 23, 2024, in Appleton.
In the 1950s cohort, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Peterson) Dittloff, an EHS '59 and MSE '89 graduate from Green Bay, died on May 11, 2024. John Shoman (EHS '53), from Little Rock, Arkansas, passed on April 16, 2024. Muriel (Waldron) Willman (EHS '51), from Crystal Falls, Michigan, died on May 12, 2024.
From the graduates of the 1960s: Carol (Dibelius) Brachmann (EHS '62) from Sheboygan died on April 28, Neal Buck (LS '62) from Fond du Lac passed on May 11. James Coller (LS '67 and MSE '70), a Green Bay resident died on May 7. Arlyn “Bobby” Day (EHS '63) from Cedar Grove passed on April 26. Gerhard “Gary” Fisher (LS '67), West Bend resident died on May 5. John “Jack” Goedjen (LS '61) from Two Rivers died on April 18. James Schleg (EHS ’65), Port Washington resident died on May 15. Keith Wautlet (EHS ’65) from Largo, Florida passed away on April 5. Kathye (Coughlin) Wierman (EHS ’65), a West Bend resident died on May10.
