ADA compliance obligations in the employment setting continue to evolve. The separatist interpretation of Wisconsin Disability Law compliance only complicated the scope and depth for compliance. The right questions to ask; the right time to ask them and what to do with the information received continues to challenge employers. Adding to these obligations are the “facilities access” challenges being brought by employees and the general public (cracked sidewalks; pitch of access ramps; bathroom accessibility), what do employers need to consider to avoid legal liability?
Bob Simandl and Ann Barry Hanneman will discuss best practices for employers in addressing the legal obligations under the disability laws. From “work from home” requests to “8 and 40” restrictions, Bob and Ann will walk through the process for evaluating accommodation needs and implementing strategies that foster the business success to claims of legal noncompliance. Further, they will discuss the latest challenges in work place access through “physical barriers” and the steps to take to minimize claim vulnerability.
