Chilton City - WI recently issued the following announcement.
Annual water main flushing and flow testing will occur from October 4 through October 29, 2021 within the City of Chilton. The Water Department will conduct periodic flushing during this period depending upon weather conditions.
This watermain flushing will remove most of the natural minerals, such as iron, that are harmless, but will discolor the water. If you see men working in your area, use as little or no water for 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour to assure that the water system has settled down and that the discolored water is not drawn into your plumbing system.
If you find discolored water in your plumbing system, stop using the water, wait 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour and draw off the discolored water through the cold water faucet only.
