CITY OF APPLETON: Fall Leaf - BONUS ROUND on November 25

Bonus

City of Appleton recently issued the following announcement

Event: all Leaf - BONUS ROUND

When: November 25, 2020

We will attempt to do one additional "bonus" round of leaf collection starting on Monday, November 23, 2020..

Zone 1 - BONUS ROUND

Rake City Collects

Sunday, November 22 November 23 - 25

Zone 2 - BONUS ROUND

Rake City Collects

Sunday, November 29 November 30 - December 4

This bonus collection is not guaranteed and is dependent on the weather.  For now, the forecast for the coming days is favorable.  But if we are unable to finish because of weather, any leaves not collected will need to be removed from the street and will be the responsibility of the property owner.

Branches and brush piles must be kept separate from leaf and small yard waste piles.  Branches and brush must be cut down to 4 foot lengths and bundled with biodegradable twine and not to exceed 45 pounds.  Max branch width is 3 inch diameter.  No containers, except paper lawn & leaf bags will be collected.  Bundled branches will be picked with a claw.  Small waste and leaves will be pushed into piles.

Leaves on the following streets will be pushed into piles on side streets as often as possible, but due to heavy traffic, residents are encouraged to transport leaves to the yard waste sites rather than rake them into the gutter.  Ballard Road, College Ave., Oneida Street, Calumet Street, Wisconsin Ave., Richmond Street, Newberry Street, Meade Street, Mason Street (north of Prospect Ave.) and Lawe Street (from College Ave. to Wisconsin Ave.)

Full service yard waste site at 2625 E. Glendale Ave.  -  open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

701 S. Whitman Ave.  -  closed for the season on Tuesday, November 24

Both sites are closed on City observed holidays

It is crucial to our leaf pick up operations to be able to work during the night.  For that reason, starting on Sunday, October 11, the Police Department will not grant permission for overnight parking all week in the zone scheduled for collection.  Vehicles that are illegally parked overnight between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. will be subject to ticketing and towing.
