Sen. Rob Hutton, a Republican representing Wisconsin’s 5th Senate district, posted several updates on August 10, 2025, regarding the ongoing severe weather and flooding affecting his region.

In one post, Hutton addressed public safety concerns and asked residents to exercise caution: “The work of emergency crews is ongoing, many areas remain unsafe, and more rising waters may be coming. Avoid unnecessary trips and please join me and Patti in prayers for the safety of everyone in our region.” (August 10, 2025).

He also commended local officials for their response efforts and offered state-level support: “I am keeping in touch with local leaders and I commend them for their rapid local response. At the state level, we stand ready to help in any way and with whatever resources are needed. Please contact my office if you need assistance.” (August 10, 2025).

Hutton expressed gratitude toward emergency responders working through the crisis: “Our entire community is grateful for the round-the-clock work of our emergency responders during this severe weather and flooding.” (August 10, 2025).

Hutton was elected to the Wisconsin State Senate in 2023 to represent the state’s 5th Senate district, succeeding Dale Kooyenga.
