Rep. Ron Tusler, who represents Wisconsin’s 3rd Assembly District, has recently shared results from his district’s spring survey and outlined legislative actions taken in response to constituent feedback.

On July 21, 2025, Tusler posted: “SPRING SURVEY: 74% of the 3rd Assembly District supports law enforcement working with ICE to detain violent illegal immigrants—and I heard you.

That’s why I co-sponsored and voted YES on Assembly Bill 24, which does exactly that. Thank you for your responses!”

The following day, July 22, 2025, he addressed another survey result: “SPRING SURVEY: 79% of the 3rd Assembly District opposes replacing “mother” with “inseminated person” in state law.

You spoke loud and clear, and the @WIAssemblyGOP responded by eliminating this radical policy from Gov. Evers’ budget on the first day of the budget process.”

On July 23, 2025, Tusler highlighted tax relief efforts for retirees: “78% of the 3rd Assembly District supports eliminating state income taxes on retirees.

This budget, the Republican Legislature delivered meaningful tax relief for our retirees, but I’m not done yet. I’ll keep fighting until WI fully eliminates the income tax for our seniors.”

Tusler’s statements reflect ongoing debates within Wisconsin over immigration enforcement partnerships between local law enforcement and federal agencies like ICE. Legislative measures such as Assembly Bill 24 have been a subject of discussion at both state and national levels.

Additionally, language changes in state statutes regarding gendered terms have drawn attention during recent budget negotiations in Wisconsin. The move to retain traditional terminology aligns with actions taken by other states amid broader national conversations about inclusive language in government documents.

Taxation of retirement income is also an issue under consideration in several states as lawmakers seek ways to provide financial relief to older residents. The Republican-led legislature’s efforts mirror similar initiatives across the country aimed at reducing or eliminating taxes on retirement income.
